Hello luv... Well, I thought I'd try... just in case you were planning to be out this way. I've been thinking of you. I found this note you had left for me at the store in a pile of papers I was going through. Just a little... "Hi, I'm at Mom and Dad's" type-thing, but it made me miss you so much!
This has been a hard week. I was feeling really good and Christmassy (we haven't had a Christmas tree since 2001 and I was really excited and ready for it this year) but, my Uncle Bob (the uncle who used to live with us here) died suddenly this week and we're all pretty shattered.
This was his favourite time of year. He absolutely loved Christmas. And over the years he gave me quite a collection of decorations. From wooden nutcrackers to Santa serving plates. Although my inclination is to hide away and keep these things boxed up, I thought I'd throw a Christmas party instead... because that's what he would have liked.
And so... and so... we're going to put up the tree tomorrow and start baking and I'm going to sing at the funeral on Tuesday. I recorded a Christmas album with friends in the fall. I'm trying now to decide which carol would suit Uncle Bob best...
